Basements and Water Damage

Basements can be a challenge to dry during a water damage, since they sit below grade. It's common for people to not check their basements on a regular basis so they are typically surprised when they discover water damage in them. Most finished basements are constructed with block walls which can allow excessive moisture in. With no windows and little to no ventilation they can become a growing ground for mold and mildew. We were called out to this water loss in Waterford (lol) California, the basement had no standing water when we arrived but there were visible signs of water damage everwhere and the humidity levels were higher then normal.
